Reverend Tommy Mallard


Tommy has been a resident of Jacksonville most all of his life. He grew up on the Westside of Jacksonville and graduated from Edward H. White high school in 1976. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and His degree in Biblical Studies from Luther Rice Seminary in 1984. Tommy received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in January of 1978 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jacksonville, where he immediately started working with high school students. In the summer of 1978 the Lord called Tommy into the ministry and two years later placed him as the youth pastor at Westside Baptist Church. At Westside Baptist Tommy started out as the youth pastor and also ministered to the college students for five years. Then he worked with the singles for six years and started a ministry called “The Bridge” that reached many singles in the city of Jacksonville. In 1991 Tommy became the associate pastor at Westside until he left to attend Promise Land that was started in December of 1997. In March of 1998 Tommy officially became the pastor of Promise Land. Tommy has been married to his wife Patty since February of 1982. They have two sons, Seth and Jared.
