Associate Pastor Steve Whitcomb


 Steve was born in Jacksonville, FL but grew up in Atlanta, GA & Bartlett, IL. His family later moved back to Jacksonville in 1974. Steve graduated from Sandalwood High School in 1975 and received an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Florida Community College in 1977. He then spent 30 years working in the Finance, Banking, and Credit Reporting Industry. 

Steve was born again on September 17, 1986 and quickly became a lay leader and Adult Sunday School teacher at Westside Baptist Church. In December, 1996, the Lord used Steve to start Promise Land Baptist Church. In November, 2007, he surrendered to full time ministry and became the Associate Pastor at Promise Land in June, 2008. Steve received his Bachelor of Theology in May, 2002; and Master of Theology in October, 2008, from Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve and his lovely wife Carmela have been married since 1991. She was very instrumental in his coming to know the Lord. Carmela is actively involved in outreach to others and has a servant’s heart for ministry.
